MISSION STATEMENT

We believe there is a need for a new framework, a new social paradigm, that would guide us as we transition into a sustainable world. Let us see ourselves – humans – as the microscosm of the universe in which we live, at last reclaiming our rightful place in nature. Let us become accountable in the planetary whole. The art of the future will no longer be so much about style or form, but about social and environmental responsibility, and of multiculturalism, or to put it another way, of “parallel” cultures rather than a dominant monoculturalism (as Suzi Gablik connotes). This includes a search for the healing of wounds between the races, the religions and the nations of this world. We need to embrace new myths, and discard those old myths that block our psychological and spiritual well-being; that reinforce our separateness from one another. Lastly, what we need most is not just meaning, but that “aliveness” – that “rapture of living”, as Joseph Campbell would put it.

We are interested in artworks that are community based, functional, or in search of the sacred. The theme this year will be “Sacredness in Everyday Life.” Artists are invited to apply. We also will be accepting proposals from independent curators for virtual and/or site-specific exhibitions. Our goal is synchronicity and continuity of time and space, as we cross national boundaries, and create this global art project.
